The “Toxic City!” book was compiled by SDCEA staff and reviewed by Professor Rajen Naidoo of the Discipline of Occupational and Environmental Health, University of KwaZulu-Natal. It displays the health impacts of chemicals emitted by companies in the south Durban area as well as some statistics obtained from the Cancer Registry, created by SDCEA, showing how these chemicals have affected the health and well-being of our communities.
The launch will be held on Thursday, 13 September from 9m at Austerville community hall. The panel discussion will focus on environmental and health issues.
