Winter time means comfort food and there’s nothing that says comfort more than a cheesy, gooey grilled cheese sandwich.
Making the perfect grilled cheese sandwich is an art. Ditch your snackwich maker or any device because all you will need is a hot pan.
All you will need is bread, cheese and butter.
The bread must be crispy on the outside and moist on the inside once the grilling is over. If it’s soggy you have failed. Day old bread is better as it holds the cheese better than fresh.
Butter or margarine, whichever you refer will be okay but it must be room temparture or you will break your bread. Don’t be shy and butter the whole bread slice. Butter both sides.
Now the golden part, the grated cheese, pile on your cheese, choose the cheese of your choice and pop it in your pan.
