A 35-year-old Woodlands man succumbed to his gunshot injuries in hospital, mere hours after he was shot in an alleged home invasion.
Josiah Nagian was shot in the abdomen yesterday morning by an unknown suspect who fled the scene on foot.
Montclair SAPS spokesman, Dereck Vijiam said the victim was taken to St Augustine’s Hospital for surgery but later died.
A neighbour who was at home at the time of the shooting said her husband and his brother were outside when they heard a single gunshot. “We rushed over to the house and found Joe in a pool of blood. My husband brought over a towel and tried to stop the bleeding. All I can remember the poor man say as he laid there, was: ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’,” she said.
Her husband stayed with the victim until the paramedics and other authorities arrived.
