Biltong is a loved South African snack that nobody can resist. We know it as the salty piece of dried meat that can keep our chompers occupied for hours. What we don’t know is that there are many healthy reasons why biltong is good for us.
It is obviously more healthier than the bag of chips or chocolates that we buy.
According to Bull and cleaver, biltong is a great source of iron, natural protein which is crucial for muscle growth as it restores our supply of amino acids and biltong is a great source of vitamin B12 which helps make red blood cells, and help with muscle maintenance.
BUT: AS with everything in life, biltong must be eaten in moderation. Because as the saying goes, too much of a good thing can kill you. It can cause weight gain, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.
