Rain-drenched Bluff BC greens unplayable last weekend

DUE to inclement weather no Bluff Bowling Club competitions were played over the past weekend.

Results of games played over the last 10 days were as follows:

Women’s open singles Daphne Reinhardt beat Sarie Bisset in the finals and Daphne will represent the club in the Champion of Champions, while in the senior single finals, Glynis Mackrory beat Janice Rodgers.

In nominated pairs bowls, Janice Rodgers and Dawn Spack beat Daphne Reinhardt and Sarie Bisset. In the other game Lilah Nel and Ronel Morel beat Bridget White and Glynis Mackrory.

In the men’s league the A team beat Queensburgh 7-0, which keeps them at the top of the table by a healthy six points. The B side played Westville Country Club and won 4-1 .

The following men’s competitions are to be played on Saturday, 20 May at 1.30pm: Open singles Dudley Dorrofield against Robert Mhlongo and in the drawn pairs, Jorge Santos and Paul Healy play Dave Rowe and Steve Baker. Eddie Human and Michael Schrudal play Brian Osman and AN Other. Clinton Bisset and Chad Wilson play Dave Le Roux and Mouse Ratcliffe.

In the women’s competitions also to be played on Saturday is the final of the women’s fours where Janice Rodgers, Daphne Reinhardt, Phyllis Maritz and Paula Osman come up against Bridget White, Lilah Nel, Chrissie Smith and Deidre Koekemoer. In the other game, the second round of the novice singles, Cheryl Bouwer plays Louise du Plessis.

The Acutts nominated any pairs, which is open to all bowlers, is on Thursday, 18 May at 9am and on Sunday, 21 May at 9am it is the Bluff nominated any pairs sponsored by Dudley and Brian.
