Bluff police probe fatal hit-and-run

BRIGHTON Beach police need help in their investigation of a hit and run on Saturday, 24 June, which led to the death of a 44-year-old man.

At about 4am a man was found by paramedics on the verge of Brighton Road, between a liquor outlet and fuel station.

“The man’s severe head injuries were an indication that he was a victim of a hit and run. With his personal belongings, such as his mobile device, wallet and identification book being on his person, his identity was established and his family could be traced,” said Brighton Beach media officer, Captain Louise Le Roux.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital, where he remained in a coma until he died on Saturday, 22 July.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Warrant Officer Louis Smale on 079-500-1019.
